The Faculty of Education for Girls – University of Kufa held a symposium (Genetic blood diseases and their effects on human health).
It aimed to introduce the seriousness of genetic diseases, the reasons for their rapid spread, and how to spread health awareness to prevent them.
It included a lecture on genetic diseases prevalent in society, methods of transmission, associated symptoms, types, negative effects on society, and methods of prevention.
It concluded that genetic diseases, especially blood diseases, are transmitted from parents to children that the reason for their occurrence is a defect in the composition and components of red blood cells, and that sickle cell anemia is one of the genetic diseases which a disorder occurs in the genes responsible for the formation of hemoglobin.
