The Faculty of Science – University of Kufa held a seminar on thalassemia, its causes and solutions.
It included a lecture on thalassemia, transmitted from parents to children through genes, and its symptoms range from simple to severe, may lead to death because of the accumulation of iron in the body’s organs.
It concluded the approved treatments to reduce the severity of the symptoms of thalassemia, such as folic acid, vitamin D, calcium, and Oxjade medication, and the emphasis on conducting a thalassemia test before marriage.
