Based on the University’s mission to be closely related to the community for building bridges between scientific and cultural institutions in the province of Najaf, the Center was established in 1987 which is one of the scientific departments affiliated administratively to the vice chancellor of scientific affairs, it is the responsibility of this center to perform the third function of the university by achieving the objectives of serving the society for which it was established, and to provide the institutions and labor market with trained personnel armed with the knowledge.
No doubt that the progress of our university is not less than expected, but we need broader steps and more precise plans that will make the difference. From the beginning, the Center has sought the activation of the presented visions to deepen its impact in the process of scientific, cultural and social construction through its new work mechanism, that has won the blessing of all by opening up the modern international training programs making benefit from them in the development of the outputs of continuous education. The new mechanism did not overlook the reconstruction of the training courses that the lecturer may pursue to provide him with the training programs and courses, which is the result of the personal diligence of the instructor or the trainer.

1- Developing education and increasing scientific competencies of university academic staff and employees.
2- Training the academic, administrative and technical staff in all faculties, centers and departments on the most important skills necessary in the work field.
3. Making bilateral relations with international universities , exchange of information and training experiences.
4. Issuing periodic reports on the developments in various fields of knowledge, methods of developing performance, addressing problems and solutions.
5. Awarding the certificates for the courses participants.
6. Giving results feedback.
7. Computerizing and updating data on the training planned and implemented programs in our university.
We hope that the Continuous Education Center will be the best one at the university level and other universities in Iraq, as a result of the rapid changes of the society needs and its aspirations towards the progress in the level of services provided to the individuals for the sake of well-being, To prepare trained and qualified staff to perform the functions in all disciplines that will keep pace with these developments. In this regard, the Center has developed a strategy of continuous improvement in training activities to achieve Effective training and activating community service at a higher level.
Providing advanced and modern courses to all members of the university, other universities, state institutions and civil society organizations to prepare individuals who are able to present the best services to their community through the preparation of cadres armed with the best training and pedagogical techniques required.
1- Promoting training programs by the introducing the most recent ones such as electronic courses.
2- Developing renewable work mechanism for the courses and seminars according to need, which will ensure skills improvement of both the trainee and the trainer.
3- Increasing and deepen the relations with the various state institutions and civil society organizations.
4- Informing the official authorities and others about the participation of their employees in these courses to present gifts and prizes to the outstanding students.
5- Following up the provision of all the requirements for the training programs establishment.
6- Following up the implementation of the courses in the field according to the program planned.
7- Issuing the annual guide of training courses, circulating it to the concerned institutions.

1- The official working hours will be according to the declared schedule of the program, attendance must be on a specified time and place.
2- The program is implemented when the number of participants exceed (60%) of the planned number of participants.
3-The interruption of the participant in the program is considered as an absence.
4- Participant is considered a failure “in the training program in one of the following cases:
A – Not to join the program without a legitimate excuse from his office or the organizer of the program.
B- Failing to complete the program requirements, including the test, if any.
5- The certificate will be awarded by the implementing agency of the program in Arabic and English or both languages.
Second: Nomination procedures
1- Nomination is through the Candidates’ office, where the nomination letter will be sent to the Implementing Agency directly prior to the appropriate date of programs establishment in order to approve the participation according to the attached nomination form.
2- Nomination the private sector will be by contacting the implementing agency of the programs immediately after filling the form.
3- In the case of admission cancelation of the candidate, the organizer must be informed before.
Third: Participation Fees
1- The colleges will pay the fees if their employees are nominated for the programs and training activities.
2-The participant who is not affiliated to the University and its colleges will pay the participation fees himself.
3- Free courses for university employees only.
Fourth: – Motivating the University employees in training programs
1- The top three in two-week training programs will be awarded acknowledged by the University Chancellor in the programs held at the university and by the Dean in programs held at the colleges.
2- Travel expenses will be paid to the employees when they participate in training programs held outside the province.
The Center adopts practical methods in its training programs according to the nature of the course; it includes theoretical lectures and practical application.
