Good Health and Wellbeing
The College of Medicine at the University of Kufa is closely associated with Al-Sadr Hospital, the largest and most advanced hospital in IRAQ Mid-South. It offers almost-free access to all staff and students for health services (including mental health support).
Gender Equality
Non-Discrimination Policy: The University of Kufa does not discriminate against individuals on the basis of their gender, marital status, race, color, religion, disability, or political opinion. All people have equal opportunities.
Any complaint regarding any kind of discrimination is taken seriously and should be immediately reported to the
University President or Vice-President
Decent Work and Economic Growth
The University of Kufa is committed to decent work and economic prosperity. All staff are paid decent salaries regularly on a monthly basis. No forced labor or any kind of discrimination is accepted. No payment difference based on gender: men and women are equally paid. All staff and students are represented at the top university governing body. In addition, staff and students are free to join the appropriate unions.
Partnerships for the Goals
The University of Kufa is in direct involvement with the IRAQ Federal Government and the Local Government in Najaf Governorate to identify problems and challenges facing our society. UoK is also involved in developing solutions to such problems in collaboration with other Iraqi Universities and non-profit, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in IRAQ. UoK provides regional hospitals and health institutions with continuous help via the involvement of student volunteering and training programs supported by the College of Medicine at the University of Kufa. In collaboration with NGOs, UoK annually holds several conferences and seminars to identify health problems and hazards, for example, the possible bio-effects of mobile phone towers (please see https://www.uokufa.edu.iq/?s=conference ).
UoK is committed to quality education, supports anti-illiteracy campaigns, and holds health educational seminars for the public. Also, UoK annually holds a national conference on multireligious culture; also holds several seminars to promote multiculturalism and educate people on environmental issues and challenges. The University of Kufa has a permanent chair for the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), located at the UOK Presidency Building at the main campus in the city of Kufa, Najaf Governorate. The UNESCO Chair Office at UOK hosts seminars promoting quality education, world peace, and mutual understanding.
